The study examines international practices such as the FAO framework, USDA system, Storie Index, Canada Land Inventory, and the German Bodenschätzung system. The bonitirovka methodology is compared with international approaches, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, and emphasizing the necessity of integrating modern digital technologies for sustainable land resource management. The article outlines the trends of transition from static score-based assessments to dynamic indicators (climate, degradation, productivity, management impact) and offers practical recommendations for improving the system.
