Screening of strains of bacteria of the genus azotobacter and delimitation of broad-spectrum phytopathogenic properties
Abstract
The study was designed to screen individual strains of bacteria of the genus Azotobacter in vitro for limiting broad-spectrum phytopathogenic properties and for several physiological properties related to plant growth. In total, 9 strains were tested for their antagonistic properties against five different pathogens. These five types of pathogens are F. oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici, Rhizoctonia solani isolates were tested. 9 isolated strains showed positive results in broad-spectrum biocontrol of five different pathogens in vitro. In the enhanced antagonistic test, these strains were F. oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum, Fusarium culmorum, Fusarium graminearum, Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. Observations were made together with bacteria of the Azotobacter genus as a biological control of the main plant pathogens such as lycopersici, Rhizoctonia solani. The properties of Azotobacter bacteria strains related to plant growth and development, including nitrogen fixation, IAA synthesis, antifungal and biosurfactant activity properties were studied. These 9 strains had an inhibitory effect on pathogens in experiments and showed positive effects on plant growth
