Abstract
This article explores the theoretical and methodological foundations for developing land management projects aimed at changing the categories of agricultural lands. During the research, the condition of agricultural land use in the territory of the Kashkadarya region, as well as the relationship between population growth and the expansion of settlements and non-agricultural land areas, were assessed based on correlation and regression analyses. In addition, the economic, environmental, and social issues addressed in land management projects related to changing land categories were highlighted, and scientific and practical recommendations aimed at organizing the efficient use of land resources were developed.
