Abstract
The article presents data on the current state of typical and carbonate brown soils of the Chirchik river basin. The results of the research showed that the depth of the carbonate-accumulative horizon in the brown soils of the basin depends on the slope exposure, that carbonates in typical brown soils are deeply leached than in carbonate soils, in carbonate-accumulative horizons there are processes of bleaching. The largest amount of humus falls on typical brown soils developed in the northern exposure, and in carbonate soils, the soils of the northern exposure are rich in humus compared to the soils of the eastern and southern exposure. The soils of the southern exposure are the poorest in terms of humus content.
