The main directions of scientific work in the reserves are the analysis of flora and fauna, their reproduction, the creation of favorable living conditions, the study of ecology and biology of many species. One of these reserves is the Nurata State Walnut Reserve. The flora and fauna of the Nurata State Reserve and Biosphere Reserve, located in the Forish district, have been studied and research is being carried out in this area. In particular, there were less than 100 Kyzylkum sheep (Severtsov sheep) before the creation of the Nurata State Reserve. Today their number has reached 2,000.
