The article defines the types of soils and the land plots occupied by them, distributed in the delta and  terraces of the Karadarya River flowing through the territory of the Andijan region, as well as analyzes the physical and chemical composition and properties of soils. Based on a comparison of previous studies on the assessment of soil quality, the changes in the fertility and quality of soils on the lands where rice is cultivated were studied.
