The article presents the materials of many years of research, allowing to identify the causes of natural and anthropogenic salinization, to assess the soil-reclamation state of irrigated soils of the Aral region. It is recommended that the main methods of combating salinization are lowering the level of groundwater, reducing their salinity and evaporation
