In order to develop the industrial, production and social spheres of the economy, there is a need to transfer agricultural land to other categories of the land fund. In recent years, the transfer of agricultural land to other categories of the land fund in the Republic of Uzbekistan is being carried out at a rapid pace. Although the transfer of agricultural lands to other categories of land for non-agricultural needs is allowed in special cases by the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in practice, the process of transferring agricultural lands to other categories of the land fund is taking a serious turn. The article examines the reasons and factors for the transfer of agricultural land to other categories of the land fund, the negative consequences of the transfer of these lands to other categories and their impact on food security.
