Abstract
The development of modern cartographic methods is directly related to the development of geoinformation systems and technologies. The use of GAT technologies in the field of population mapping has led to a number of theoretical and practical changes in the scope of work, as well as to the improvement of product design and accuracy as a result of the work performed. This article discusses the creation of a database for mapping in GAT technologies, the rapid detection and monitoring of changes in the ground based on data from aerospace and other sources, the creation of a demographic digital database using GAT technology programs and a series based on them. enrichment of the content of maps and development of technology for creating maps of the population using GAT technologies. The development of scientific and applied research in the field of cartography and geoinformatics has introduced new concepts and new types of maps into science. Examples include digital, electronic, and animated maps.
